Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that ADVAN KONDO Racing finished 13th overall and eighth in its class in the 71st 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The company was the team's main sponsor at this endurance event, which was held for two days from June 14 at the Sarthe Circuit in Le Mans, France. Yokohama Rubber provided ADVAN KONDO Racing with about 400 specially designed tires.

The cars competing every year are mostly in two categories. The first is the Proto Class (LMP900/LMP675) for cars that are specially designed for racing. The second is the Grand Touring (GT) class (LM-GTS/LM-GT) for cars that are available on the street. ADVAN KONDO Racing participated in the LMP900 class. Tough conditions—an air temperature of 31。C and a road temperature exceeding 41。C—forced 23 of the 50 entries to retire. ADVAN KONDO Racing experienced some mechanical problems, but there were no major problems with the tires. Yokohama Rubber supported three other teams, in the LM-GT class. They included TEAM TAISAN ADVAN, which was fourth in its class. It was the fourth straight year in which a Yokohama Rubber-supported team stepped up to the podium in that class.
The drivers of the ADVAN KONDO Racing car (Masahiko Kondo is the representative of the KONDO Racing team), were Masahiko Kondo, Ukyo Katayama, and Ryo Fukuda.
