Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced today that it will exhibit lavatory modules at Aircraft Interiors Expo Asia 2007. That trade show will take place from September 3 to 6 at Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Expo exhibition center. Yokohama will exhibit a lavatory module for Boeing 737 airliners built to business-jet specifications. The module has a 50% wider door than conventional module and has two windows on the aircraft exterior. It accommodates the growing demand from commercial airlines for aircraft configurations that feature a reduced number of seats for enhanced luxury.

Aircraft Interiors Expo is the world's largest exhibition devoted exclusively to airline interior design and airline cabin systems engineering. It takes place each April in Hamburg and each September in Hong Kong. The organizers expect this years Hong Kong event to draw some 500 exhibitors of aircraft-interior products and thousands of visitors from the airline and aeronautics industries. Aircraft Interiors Expo is thus an excellent opportunity to call attention to products for enhancing passenger aircraft. Yokohama has exhibited at the events annually since 2005.

A leading manufacturer of tires for cars and trucks, Yokohama also manufactures radial tires for the Boeing 777. The company has built a strong position, too, in products for aircraft interiors. It supplies drinking-water tanks for nearly every Boeing model, and it is Boeing's exclusive supplier of lavatory modules for the B737. In addition, Yokohama is the exclusive supplier of drinking-water tanks and wastewater tanks for the Airbus 380.
