Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., will participate in the 73rd Geneva International Motor Show. The event will be held from March 6 (Thursday) through March 16 (Sunday). The company will demonstrate its A.V.S series of high-performance tyres , currently available in the European and other markets. It will show tyres used as original equipment on the V12 Vanquish, a superior sports car made by England's Aston Martin. Also exhibited will be the BRABUS E-Class from BRABUS GmbH, a preeminent German tuning company. That car features in a new television commercial for the YOKOHAMA brand.

The A.V.S series is the flagship range for the YOKOHAMA tyre brand. The lineup includes A.V.S Sport, which is fitted as standard on such distinguished marques as Porsche and the Aston Martin A.V.S dB, which delivers ultra-quiet running, and A.V.S Winter for speeds up to 240km/h. The company will present the A.V.S S/T type-1 tyre, a four-wheel-drive model that is standard equipment on the AMG G55 and the BRABUS MV12. One reference exhibit will be a runflat tyre, which incorporates the SupportRing System that Continental AG and Bridgestone Corporation are jointly developing. Yokohama Rubber is contributing technologies for that effort. The company will also present the Z.P.S (Zero Pressure System) runflat tyre that it is working on independently. That tyre employs a reinforced sidewall. In addition, Yokohama Rubber plans to show tyres used as secret weapons on the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish featured in DIE ANOTHER DAY, the latest James Bond motion picture.

The first Geneva Motor Show was in 1905. It showcases cars, auto parts, manufacturing equipment, and car repair and service products. Last year'event attracted 293 exhibitors and around 720,000 visitors.
