Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that The Morgan Motor Company of the United Kingdom has adopted Yokohama's A539 high-performance tires as original equipment for its 4/4 and +8 open sports car models. The A539 tire sizes are 195/60R15 88H for the 4/4 and 205/60R15 95V and 205/55R16 93W for the +8. Morgan began marketing cars with these tires in several countries from early spring.

The A539 tire achieves a good balance between dynamic performance and driving comfort. It is available in European and other markets. The tire features reduced tire noise and driving stability in addition to high-speed capabilities. It also delivers a firm grip on wet and dry roads through its outstanding asymmetrical tread design, a super-traction compound based on new Silica technology, and its long tread life.

Morgan sports cars are known for their classical design and the 4/4 has never experienced a full model-change since its launch in 1936. It features wooden frames, hand-made metal parts, a ladder-style chassis and 1.8-liter engine with 111 horsepower. The +8 is the higher power version of the 4/4 and uses a 3.9-liter V8 engine with 190 horsepower.
