Tokyo-The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. (YRC), will exhibit its automotive products at the 59th Frankfurt International Motor Show to be held from September 13 through 23 in Frankfurt, Germany. YRC's stand will feature tyres for high-grade sedans and sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in addition to its sporty tyres that are already well recognized in the European marketplace. The exhibits include the AVS Sport and the A539, both of which are high-performance tyre models already available in Europe, and the AVS Winter, a passenger car tyre model to be launched in this winter, as well as the AVS dB, a comfort tyre model to be launched in the next spring.

In Europe, YRC markets tyres mainly for passenger cars and trucks and buses through its sales subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark. The Japanese tyre manufacturer also covers other European countries via its strong networks of distributors. Some of its passenger car tyres have been approved as the original equipment for the most prominent cars in Europe, for example, for the Lotus 340R in 2000 and the Porsche Boxster, the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and the Mercedes-Benz G500 in 2001. In addition, YRC supplied truck & bus tyres to The Scania Group in 2000 on an original equipment basis.
