Message from the President
Toru Nakamura
Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Thailand (YTMT) will celebrate its 20th anniversary in January 2024. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the stakeholders who have cooperated with us thus far.
Established in 2004 as a tire manufacturing company for trucks and buses (TBS), in 2006 we built a tire factory for passenger cars and light trucks (PCLT) on the same site, and in 2009 we opened a tire proving ground TIRE TEST CENTER OF ASIA (TTCA). ), and in 2015, the TIRE DESIGN CENTER OF THAILAND (TDCT), a tire structure design department, was established, and as an important strategic base for Yokohama Rubber, the entire process from tire design to production to performance evaluation is carried out here. It's now possible. This has dramatically improved our tire development and testing capabilities, leading to environmental considerations (carbon neutrality) and faster improvements in the performance requirements for tires, which are becoming increasingly strict. We are working to develop, market, and expand production with the goal of using materials that have a low impact on the environment from the time of raw material procurement, taking advantage of their characteristics, and producing tires using the minimum amount of energy necessary.
Regarding the environment, since obtaining ISO14001 and ISO50001 (energy management system) certifications, we have been working on environmental conservation and energy saving activities with the participation of all employees, with these as the core of our efforts.
As part of our environmental conservation efforts, we began tree-planting activities as part of the YOKOHAMA Forever Forest Project in 2008, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions and improving communication with the local community. To date, we have planted a total of 106,745 trees. The seedlings used for tree planting are based on the Miyawaki method of forest creation, in which we use our own seedlings that are germinated from local seeds. We are spreading this method to other companies and local schools, and are also conducting support activities. We have also set up a biodiversity activity area on the premises, including a biotope, where employees can enjoy monitoring the habitat status of living organisms and evaluating air and water quality. We actively accept visits from students from nearby schools and open this area as a learning area for students. These activities have become something our employees are proud of.
Including the activities mentioned above, we will continue to work to become a company that is trusted and loved by our employees and the local community.

In 2023 we survey environmental risk continue by focus on oil piping / solvent piping/ oil tank/ hydraulic tank result founding total 54 items we improvement by make curb around machine, change gutter grating to cover plate, install spill kit cabinet and make barrier around dust collector for preventive oil and chemical leak contaminated to environment finished 49 items (91%). The remaining 5 items (install shutter door of gutter) we will be improved within Jun 2024 because need to check flow direction and volume of water rain before design and can install on shutdown time only.
Biodiversity conservation activities in 2023
We established biodiversity activity areas at offices, conducted ongoing monitoring on the status of habitats of all living creatures, and evaluated air and water quality.
At the end of 2018, biodiversity areas were opened during school visits, and we began to accept visits from the students of nearby schools.
