Hiratsuka, Japan—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., is pleased to announce that a car running on its ADVAN global flagship brand tires was the overall winner of Round 3 of the 2026 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) held in Germany on April 11 (Saturday). Another car equipped with ADVAN tires finished third. The strong performance by the two cars was supported by the excellent grip and durability provided by Yokohama Rubber’s ADVAN racing tires.
The overall winner was the No. 77 car entered by BMW M Motorsport, an active participant in motorsport-related activities around the world, and operated by race-participant Schubert Motorsport. The team raced in a "Red in Black" ADVAN colored BMW M4 GT3 EVO. The No. 77 car started the race in the front row, and after making an early pit stop at the end of lap 6 it moved into the lead at the end of lap 8. Thereafter, the team was in complete control, maintaining a trouble-free high pace supported by strategically timed pit stops, and reached the checkered flag about 21 seconds ahead of the 2nd place machine.
The third-place car was the No. 65 Ford Mustang GT3 entered by Haupt Racing Team. No. 65 moved up steadily from its 19th place start to join the No. 77 team on the podium.
The NLS is an endurance racing series held each year at Nürburgring, one of the world’s most challenging race circuits. This year’s NLS includes 10 races, culminating in October. In this year’s NLS, Yokohama Rubber is partnering with BMW M Motorsport for the first time in nearly 40 years, the Haupt Racing Team for a third straight year, and KONDO RACING, with which Yokohama Rubber has had a strong partnership for many years. As the tire partner of three top teams, Yokohama Rubber looks forward to victories in many NLS races and also has its eyes on the overall win at this year’s Nürburgring 24-Hour Race in May.
The consumer tire strategy in Yokohama Rubber’s three-year (2024–2026) medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2026 (YX2026), aims to maximize the sales ratios of high-value-added tires by expanding sales of YOKOHAMA’s global flagship ADVAN brand, the GEOLANDAR brand of tires for SUVs and pickup trucks, winter tires, and 18-inch and larger tires. Yokohama Rubber positions participation in motorsports activities as crucial to its effort to further strengthen the ADVAN and GEOLANDAR brands. Yokohama Rubber therefore is again participating in a wide variety of motorsports events around the globe, from top-category to grassroots events.
