Yokohama Tire Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (YTMT), a tire plant in Thailand, is located within an industrial park. Because water intake and discharge is centrally managed at industrial parks in Thailand, unlike the plants in Japan, it is not possible to confirm the impact of individual plants on water intake and discharge areas. For this reason, we monitor birds and insects in order to assess the green areas (Forever Forests and biotopes) on plant premises. In order to recreate a rich ecosystem within the plant premises, we are creating two types of biotope?marshes and ponds. We have been carrying out further planting in order to preserve the connection between aquatic and land wildlife.
Dok-Kray, the reservoir where is the important water resource of Amata City Rayong industrial parks that YTMT is located. On 23 July 2024, YTMT cooperate with Amata City Rayong industrial park and other companies located in Amata City Rayong industrial park preserved the aqua life in the reservoir by release the primary fish and prawn into the reservoir. So YTMT also sent the representative of employees to join the activities.

To share the knowledge about biodiversity and environmental to youths. YTMT set activity and invited student from the local school near to YTMT to join the activity. We taught them basic knowledge of biodiversity and environment awareness.
Besides learning in room, we let them to do active activities at biodiversity area for the game about walk around to get knowledge from the nature in the area (walk rally) and monitor company living things indicator as dragonfly and butterfly.
In 2024 we arranged 3 times of activities for student 3 school as; Ban Mapyang porn primary school, Ban Map Toey primary school and Nikom 9 primary school.

On December 21, 2024, we also arranged the biodiversity preservation activities. President and YTMT’s volunteer employees and their family, total 66 persons went to Khao Kheow nature and wildlife study center to made the houses for the small wild animals. And we also grew seedlings and plant tree to repair and add more tree in the forest area.

YTRC is Yokohama Rubber's only natural rubber processing plant, located in Suratthani Province in southern Thailand.
The factory is situated on a flat expanse of land nestled between the Tapi River and its tributaries, which flow down from approximately 80 kilometers upstream.
Our company views promoting sustainable business activities in harmony with this environment as our corporate responsibility and continues initiatives that prioritize the conservation of biodiversity.
While the processing of natural rubber requires significant water usage, our company has maintained a 100% water recycling system since our establishment, ensuring the efficient utilization of water resources.
We also effectively utilize nutrient-rich soil precipitated and recovered from wastewater generated during the manufacturing process.
This soil, which was once distributed free of charge to local residents, is now used for tree planting activities within the factory and for growing our own saplings.
All employees participate in planting approximately 5,000 trees annually on the factory grounds.
This soil is used to create mounds during planting, supporting the establishment and healthy growth of the saplings.
Indeed, many trees show impressive growth just one year after planting.
Furthermore, this soil is also used as potting mix for native seeds collected on-site and for seedlings of higher-value fruit trees.
We provide tens of thousands of these seedlings annually, free of charge, to local residents and natural rubber farmers.
Within the YTRC grounds lies a large flood control reservoir spanning approximately 46,000 square meters.
This reservoir serves not only as a rainwater regulation facility but also plays a vital role as a stable habitat for fish and birds.
Water quality and fish population monitoring in the retention pond is conducted monthly, aiding in environmental maintenance and tracking changes.
Particularly during the rainy season, natural inflow from the Ta Pi River, combined with the synergistic effect of young fish release activities, has confirmed the breeding of over 20 species of fish, both large and small.
This flood control reservoir also serves as a place for community interaction. While previously open only every other year, it has been open to the public annually in recent years, hosting fish harvesting events. Visiting local residents can experience the bounty of nature and the health of the environment firsthand. They can also observe the growth of fish in the pond and see the results of YTRC's efforts to maintain a healthy ecosystem up close.
In the evening, the chirping of birds gathered in the trees echoes throughout the factory grounds, allowing visitors to feel the rich natural rhythms throughout the seasons.
Furthermore, the palm grove is opened to the community once a month, allowing visitors to freely pick and take home the fruit.
Through these opportunities for interaction with nature and the circular use of resources, we are working to build a factory that is cherished by the local community.
In addition, as part of its CSR activities, YTRC engages in various community contributions, including participation in local events, donations, the free provision of YOKOHAMA brand tires for local rescue team ambulances, and support through the distribution of rice and drinking water during flood disasters.
These initiatives are closely linked to our biodiversity activities and demonstrate our commitment to building sustainable local communities.
Moving forward, we will continue our efforts in maintaining and managing flood control basins and green spaces. We will also expand activities that walk alongside the community and future generations, such as enhancing biological monitoring and creating opportunities for environmental education.

CHZY is located in the Qianjiang District of Hangzhou City, along the banks of the Qianjiang River. While there are green spaces within the industrial area, the variety of trees composing these areas is limited, resulting in a lack of biodiversity. To address this, CHZY initiated the "Millennium Forest" tree planting project in 2008. Over 24,000 saplings have been planted across a 5,000 square meter area. These trees are allowed to compete and co-exist with each other. Recognizing the potential of the Millennium Forest to become a habitat for forest-dwelling creatures, we have been conducting evaluations of the forest and surveys of the living organisms inhabiting it.
CHZY has regularly conducted environmental protection activities each year in collaboration with local governments, volunteers, and nearby businesses.
On July 4 and November 6, 2024, we carried out “Riverbank Biodiversity Conservation Activities, Invasive Species Removal Activities,” and litter cleanup activities along the Xiasha River wetlands and in the Dongsha Lake area of Qiantang District.
To eradicate invasive species, protect biodiversity, and beautify the surrounding environment, we conducted a “fish fry release and trash cleanup” activity in the river near our factory on May 27, 2025.
As part of our environmental protection policy, we have been entrusted by the government to manage a piece of land (approximately 2,000 square meters) near our CHZY location, designated as the "Yokohama Conservation Forest." Since 2013, we have been conducting tree planting activities every year during the Tree Planting Festival in March, alongside local residents and elementary school students. Since 2013, we have conducted tree-planting activities every year on Arbor Day in March together with local residents and elementary school students. To date, we have planted a total of 150 trees.

As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) supports reforestation and biodiversity efforts through seedling donations. By providing seedlings to various organizations and communities, YTPI aims to extend its environmental impact beyond company grounds, helping restore green spaces and promote long-term ecological sustainability.

YTPI generously donated 100 pieces of various seedlings consisting of Alibangbang, Alalangad, and Fire Tree to the Aviation Security Unit Region 3?Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development's Technical Working Group, planted at Sapang Bato, Angeles City.

The company also distributed a total of fifty (50) seedlings to GOTO DENSHI MFG. PHILS., INC., attending to their humble request as contribution for the environmental improvements conducted inside their perimeter. The seedlings were a variation of Alibangbang, Alalangad, Fire Tree, and Bignay.

Recent assessments by YTPI’s Environmental Management System (EMS) confirm the thriving biodiversity within its Forever Forest. Despite its compact size, the forest has become a vibrant ecosystem, home to various species of insects, arachnids, reptiles, and birds. In 2024 alone, EMS documented 19 new species clear signs of a healthy, dynamic environment.
This biodiversity growth is a direct result of YTPI’s tree planting initiatives and the application of the Dr. Miyawaki Method. Through mindful ecological restoration, the forest now serves as a sanctuary where species not only survive but flourish, reflecting YTPI’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Continuing its mission to promote environmental sustainability and biodiversity, Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) launched its latest eco-initiative?the “Green Curtain” Project?on December 13, 2024, at Si?ura Elementary School (SES).
This innovative project combines green architecture with environmental education, introducing a nature-based solution to help reduce indoor heat, improve school comfort, and foster a deeper appreciation for plants among young learners.
The “Green Curtain” involves the installation of vertical trellises made from reused and repurposed materials, where climbing plant species are cultivated to grow along the structure. Once mature, these plants form a natural barrier that reduces sunlight penetration thereby decreasing the reliance on energy-intensive cooling systems.
By integrating the “Green Curtain” into the school environment, YTPI aims to empower the next generation with hands-on environmental experience. Students and teachers alike are encouraged to take part in the care and monitoring of the plants, learning about how small-scale green infrastructure can mitigate climate change.

YTPI continues to promote sustainability by teaching proper waste segregation in schools. As part of its Proper Waste Management initiative, YTPI provided color-coded trash bins?blue for recyclables, green for biodegradable, and black for residual waste?to Angeles City National High School and Sinura Elementary School.
The bins were made from scrap materials and painted to support effective waste sorting. To reinforce the initiative, YTPI representatives also conducted orientations for students and staff, emphasizing the importance of responsible waste disposal and environmental awareness.

June 2024 marks the celebration of Environment Month at Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI). This annual event holds great significance in emphasizing the importance of biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness. Some of the highlights are:

The Biodiversity Corner featured interactive displays, informative panels, and engaging activities which offered the viewers an opportunity to have a glimpse of the wonders of the ecosystem while highlighting the significance of environmental conservation and preservation efforts.

Among the exciting activities the EMS put together was the E-Bingo Race?a fun and interactive way to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire positive actions. The goal of the race was to accomplish a series of tasks within a given time frame, which included finding answers to facts about YTPI, conducting small environmental initiatives, among many others.

The EMS hosted a Parent and Child Eco-Poster Making Contest for YTPI employees and their children, wherein a total of ten (10) pairs par?cipated, using paint as their primary medium as they crafted their artistic works related to the Environment Month 2024's theme. This activity encouraged the participants to learn about environmental protection and adopt practices, contributing to environment conservation for future generations.

YTPI not only enhances environmental quality but also fosters team spirit and strengthens community bonds among its employees. With that, a total of 43 employees conducted a Clean-Up Drive, wherein each group were assigned specific areas to collect and properly dispose various types of waste. Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) was honored with the Environmental Stewardship Award at the 23rd General Assembly of the Environmental Practitioners Association (EPA), held on August 16 at Widus Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone.
The award recognizes YTPI’s strong commitment to sustainability and its proactive efforts in promoting environmental responsibility. Through innovative practices and continued dedication, YTPI sets a strong example of how corporate success can align with environmental leadership.

YTMV is located at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia in the eastern United States. The area offers a vibrant natural environment where people can enjoy four distinct seasons like in Japan. The growth of trees in the Forever Forest planted on the YTMV premise has provided a natural habitat for a large variety of wildlife and wild fowl. YTMV is carrying out activities to balance the conservation of this natural environment and the company’s production activities.
Since 2015, YTMV has set up nest boxes to protect breeding Sialia sialis (Eastern bluebirds), and since then, all employees watch over the baby birds as they grow.

Also, within the premises of YTMV, a small group of Odocoileus virginianus (white-tailed deers) lives. These mammals play a significant role within our gates through vegetation management as well as seed dispersal and plant diversity. These animals also serve as a viewing enjoyment to our employees.

CSZY is located in Yangtze Delta of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. Yangtze Delta is abundant in water resources with many lakes and rivers including Lake Tai, covering 36.6% of Suzhou's area. This area is also characterized by mild climate, ample rainfall and plenty of sunshine. CSZY launched Forever Forest activities in 2012, and biodiversity activities in 2016, and has observed changes of birds, insects and plants within the plant premises.
CSZY began its biodiversity survey activities in 2016, conducting the 17th survey on November 29, 2024, and the 18th survey on June 20, 2025.
The survey primarily involves observing the number of insects, plants, and birds within the site to understand their ecosystem.
Due to the effects of the Forever Forest, the number of egrets has increased among the birds, and fungi have also been discovered.

In 2023, YTVI conducted a comprehensive survey at the C?n Gi? Biosphere Reserve in preparation for its next biodiversity conservation project. Designated by UNESCO in 2000 as Vietnam's first biosphere reserve, C?n Gi? is renowned for its unique mangrove ecosystem located near Ho Chi Minh City. Situated approximately 60km from YTVI, the reserve boasts diverse flora, including species listed in the Vietnamese Red Data Book, and a rich fauna comprising reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish, with 9 species also featured in the Red Data Book.
The mangrove botanical garden within the reserve, managed by the C?n Gi? Mangrove Research Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Forestry Department, emerged as an ideal location for our conservation research. The garden showcases mangrove trees systematically categorized for research purposes, and detailed agreements are in place with local communities regarding garden management and maintenance.
Furthermore, beginning in late 2024, YTVI has initiated several biodiversity-related activities within the company. In accordance with YTVI's environmental policy, plans are being formulated and implemented for biodiversity and ecosystem conservation, actively promoting awareness among YTVI employees regarding the preservation of the natural environment.
