The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that it would put on sale its new flagship tire for sports cars named ADVAN Sport (V103) in 2005 in Japan and in the rest of the world. The tire will be available in 66 different sizes ranging from 205/55ZR17 to 295/25ZR22 In Japan, Yokohama Rubber plans to launch the ADVAN Sport tires in the summer of 2005.

The ADVAN Sport has been developed to succeed and further sophisticate the excellent kinetic performance of the AVS Sport, Yokohama Rubber's conventional flagship tire for sports cars, in order to achieve superb running performance in ultrahigh speed zone. In addition, the ADVAN Sport has the improved safety and driving comfort based on wet performance and quietness that are required by next-generation sports cars and high-performance sedans that are targeted by the ADVAN Sport in order to achieve total balance at a high level. It offers a strong grip performance under a variety of conditions by combining asymmetrical tread patterns based on four main treads with a tread compound that has been developed specifically for the ADVAN Sport to achieve low temperature-dependence capability, while attaining high-level driving comfort. Designed specifically for the ADVAN Sport, the tire structure offers safety in an ultrahigh-speed zone over 300 km/h.*

ADVAN Sport (275/35ZR20) has exclusively been employed by the 20-inch model (Mulliner Driving Package) of Continental GT, a ground touring car from Bentley Motors of the United Kingdom. The Continental GT is the world's fastest four-seater coupe with the maximum speed of 318 km/h.
