Tokyo - Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announces that it will supply the official tires for the 53rd Macau Grand Prix, to be held from November 16 (Thursday) through 19 (Sunday) at the Guia Circuit, in Macau, China. The company has supplied the official tires for the event since 1983 - 24 consecutive years.

Starting this year, the final race of the 2006 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) will be staged on the same occasion, for which Yokohama Rubber also supplies ADVAN racing tires as the one-make tire. As a result, all cars in both major races will be running on ADVAN racing tires in their hot competitions on sure-to-be more exciting days. This year, including the tires it supplies for support races in addition to the F3 Grand Prix and the WTCC, the company will be providing more than 2,000 dry and wet tires for all races.

First held in 1954, the Macau Grand Prix - run through the streets of Macau - is the oldest motor race in Asia. The overall event comprises the F3 Grand Prix, the final WTCC race, the Motorcycle Grand Prix and others. The F3 Grand Prix is particularly important as it is regarded as a stepping-stone to F1. Aryton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Takuma Sato are among the many drivers who have won at Macau. Every year, some 40 cars and drivers from more than ten countries compete in the F3 Grand Prix.
