Clark Freeport, Philippines - Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) extended its assistance to the victims of Mt. Arayat mudslide brought about by Typhoon Ondoy through their relief operation held last Friday, October 2. YTPI employees handed to each affected family a set of mat, mosquito net, blanket, pail and charcoal stove at their evacuation area in Arayat, Pampanga. About 297 families, left homeless after the mudslide at Barangay San Juan Baño, were grateful for the assistance from YTPI.

The management of YTPI learned about the devastation caused the Typhoon Ondoy to Arayat residence and immediately sent their representatives to survey and check what assistance can be given to the victims. During the visit, medical mission and donations were pouring from various organizations, but the team of YTPI saw that the evacuees sleep on bare floors exposed to cold weather and mosquito bites. San Juan Baño Barangay Captain Jesus Delos Santos also mentioned the need for cooking stove. YTPI saw the opportunity to give better assistance by providing the victims with essential non-food items that are badly needed by the evacuees, thus decided to give sleeping and cooking apparatus.

Aside from this initiative, YTPI also donated 25 sacks of rice to Clark Development Corporation as an answer to their call to assist the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Being involved and taking action in times of crisis is part of YTPI's fundamentals to Corporate Social Responsibility where its core philosophy is to contribute for better society.
