Message from the President
In 2022, our production orders fluctuated violently due to the shortage of semiconductors and the Shanghai lockdown, which greatly affected the production of automobile manufacturers. It was also a very difficult year from a business perspective due to soaring raw material and electricity prices. The summer power restrictions due to the heat wave and the explosive spread of infections at the end of the year following the transition to with COVID-19 also made it a difficult year in terms of company operations and employee health care. In this environment, we at Hangzhou Yokohama have responded as one company.
As a "model enterprise for corporate safety culture" in Hangzhou City and an "ecological civilization education base" in Zhejiang Province, we will implement various initiatives to achieve both economic development and environmental contribution.
Organizational Governance
Compliance education
We have been continued to enhance the basic system for internal control in 2022, and thus there were no incidents of misconduct.
For those employees whose position is that of section manager or higher, we have been conducting CSR education at a frequency of once a month.

Education and training for employees
In 2022, as in the previous year, the general manager's morning meeting was held only once in the form of an assembly of employees from the aspect of quarantine measures by COVID-19.
As an alternative, the general manager issued a general safety reminder via in-house broadcast.
We have received the honor of being named the Hangzhou City Emergency (Safety) Publicity and Education Sensory Room, and many neighboring companies have come to inspect our sensory training room.
We conduct safety worker evaluations for all employees, not only those on the shop floor, but also those in the administrative department, and we are developing KYT activities, always striving to ensure that all employees become safety workers.
In China, June is "Safety and Production Month" and November is "Firefighting Month," and we are conducting a variety of activities to promote safety and fire prevention. Evacuation and fire drills are held once a year with the participation of all employees.
We obtained Japanese Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) Certification in the beginning of 2012. Those standards exceeded what was demanded by government. We have passed re-audits in 2014, 2017, and again in April 2021. We are also scheduled to undergo another renewal audit for China State Safety Standard Grade 2 in February 2023. Looking to the future, we are working to pass the China State Safety Standards Grade 1 Certification.
In addition, our company has been recognized by the Hangzhou Municipal Emergency Management Bureau as a "Hangzhou City Safety Culture Construction Model Company" and the safety atmosphere of the entire company has been highly praised.

Major events
Lantern Festival is an important day in China, but there are many cleanup workers in Hangzhou who cannot return to their hometowns due to COVID-19. As the vice president company of the Green Promotion Association, we participated in the Lantern Festival activities. To thank those who protect the local environment, we prepared hot dumplings and held a consolation party for the cleanup workers.
In the summer of 2022, there are concerns about the effects on mental and physical health such as physical weakness and stress accumulation due to prolonged activity restriction and lack of exercise caused by COVID-19 infection control measures. In order to support the health promotion of employees, we invited staff from a nearby Kewpie food company to provide employees with useful information on health promotion based on the three elements of "diet," "nutrition," and "lifestyle," including "the basis of health comes from a healthy diet" and the need to reduce salt and actively consume vegetables to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.

As a model company for environmental protection, we plan various environmental protection activities.
One of these activities is the removal of non-native plants and the preservation of native species.
