Yokohama Rubber designated as “DX Certified Business Operator” by METI

Hiratsuka, Japan—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced today that it was designated on September 1, 2025, as a “DX Certified Business Operator” under the Digital Transformation (DX) certification program established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Based on the Act on Facilitation of Information Processing, the DX certification program certifies companies that are prepared for digital transformation in accordance with the basic principles of the Digital Governance Code set forth by METI, including the formulation of a vision and the development of strategies and organizational structures.

Under Yokohama Rubber’s three-year (2024–2026) medium-term management plan YX2026, the Company is advancing the “exploitation” of the strengths of its existing businesses and the “exploration” of new value as it aims to complete the transformation begun under its previous medium-term plan while being mindful to not leave any negative legacies for the next generation.

As one of the management strategies supporting this transformation, Yokohama Rubber has established a DX strategy with the three pillars of the promotion of business strategy, contribution to sustainability, and strengthening IT infrastructure. Based on the Company’s proprietary AI utilization framework, “HAICoLab*,” it is promoting DX across the entire group through initiatives such as productivity improvement and process innovation, DX human resources development, and the establishment of a global IT infrastructure using cloud technology. By obtaining the DX Certification, Yokohama Rubber was recognized for such accomplishments as implementing efforts that meet the certification criteria and appropriately disclosing information to stakeholders.
