Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced today that Mercedes-AMG has selected its “ADVAN Sport V107” tires as original equipment for two models in the automaker’s new GLE 63-series—the GLE 63 4MATIC+ and the GLE 63 4MATIC+ Coupe, which were launched in Europe in March 2020. The new models come equipped with 285/40ZR22 110Y size front tires and 325/35ZR22 114Y size rear tires or 275/50ZR20 113Y size tires both for front and rears.
The “ADVAN Sport V107” is a high-performance tire developed by Yokohama Rubber primarily for use on high-power premium cars. The “ADVAN Sport V107” improves upon the already excellent driving performance necessary for premium cars delivered by its predecessor “ADVAN Sport V105” tires while maintaining the superior comfort and safety of the V105. The tires were jointly developed with Mercedes-AMG and bear the automaker’s “MO1” mark of approval on the tire sidewall.
Under its medium-term management plan, Grand Design 2020 (GD2020), Yokohama Rubber has positioned the expansion of its presence in the premium tire markets as the core goal for its consumer tire business. One of the specific strategies for achieving that goal is the “premium-car tire strategy”, which aims to increase use of YOKOHAMA tires as OE on premium cars in Japan and abroad by making Yokohama Rubber the tire maker chosen by automakers around the world in recognition of its technologies and quality.
