Yokohama Tire Philippines Publicly Recognized by President Arroyo for Overall Performance

Tokyo - The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc. (YTPI), a Yokohama Rubber group company, had received an Outstanding Recognition for Overall Performance award from Clark Development Corporation (CDC) on July 13, 2009. YTPI is the first international company that entered the Clark Freeport Zone and has contributed to the zone for many years in terms of investment, employment, environment-conscious management and worker safety/health. At the awarding ceremony, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the guest of honor to the ceremony gave a commendation certificate to YTPI President Takayuki Hamaya.

This awarding is a program to publicly recognize the companies that have entered the Clark Freeport Zone situated north of Manila on Luzon Island, demonstrated excellent management skills, and contributed to the development of local economy. After screening by CDC of more than 50 candidate companies, 3 companies including YTPI received the Outstanding Recognition for Overall Performance award. In addition, 4 other companies received special awards for Outstanding Environment and Health Management, Outstanding Investment Performance, Outstanding Employment and Human Resource Management Performance, and Outstanding New Investor.Established in 1996, YTPI manufactures and distributes passenger-car tires by employing approximately 1,600 workers to sustain its operation.
