Message from the President

Yasuhiro Kurokawa
Yokohama Tire Vietnam (YTVI) is an integrated manufacturing and sales company with a production base in an industrial park in Binh Doung Province, north of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and sales offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The plant produces MC, LTB, ID, PCB and bias tires, which are not available at other plants of the Yokohama Group.
In terms of sales, in response to the rapid increase in passenger and commercial vehicles, we are aiming to improve our market position in Vietnam by expanding sales of PCR, SUV, and LTR in addition to MC and LTB, which we have been selling for a long time.
With “safety, environment, and quality” as foundational pillars of our activities, we actively engage in
☆ Ensuring that safety takes precedence over everything else
☆ Creating a workplace where employees can feel safe and secure
☆ Providing customers with products that can be used with peace of mind
☆ Actively engage in social contribution activities in Vietnam
We will work together to become a trusted company with a strong presence as the Yokohama Rubber Group in Vietnam, a market that is expected to undergo major changes in the future.
Organizational Governance
Based on the company’s policies and standards, employee education regarding legal compliance is regularly conducted, and we continue to work to improve employee awareness of such compliance issues.
We are continuing to revise the arrangements for approval authority and approval routes to make them easier to operate in line with actual operations.
We are reviewing our meeting structure so that it is possible to share information and make decisions based on rank, while remaining aware of efficient, local member-driven operations.
Human Rights
In 2021, on the International Women's Day in March, we again presented commemorative gifts at COVID-19, while avoiding large gatherings.
On Vietnamese Women's Day in October, we provided benefits to female employees since they were unable to come to work due to the lockdown caused by COVID-19.

Labor Practices
Complaints and requests from employees
The quarterly labor-management conference to collect opinions, grievances, and requests from workers, which had been held in previous years, had to be restricted due to the impact of COVID-19.
In spite of this situation, we continued to collect opinions and conduct improvement activities through the use of opinion boxes and daily communication in order to strengthen the relationship and trust between labor and management.
Communication with employees
Although the annual company trip, end year party, and soccer tournament sponsored by the labor union could not be held due to COVID-19, the above-mentioned opinion box and daily communication continued.
We will resume these events in the future as the Corona situation improves and as restrictions on the situation are eased.
Education and training for employees
We have designated the first day of each month as "Green Day" to raise environmental awareness through education on cleaning up inside the factory buildings and outdoor grounds and separating waste.
In 2021, we conducted quality fraud prevention education by the Quality Assurance Department in November and compliance education by the Human Resources Department in December for all employees.
In addition, as a part of the education on the prevention of occupational accidents, we have set up a sensory training center, where employees can experience actual hazards through simulation education, thereby raising their awareness of safety.
Responses in case of disaster
We invite firefighters from VSIP, an industrial park where our production sites are located, to conduct planned fire and disaster response training, and each employee is required to participate at least once/year.
Since fiscal 2020, all employees have also been trained to demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers.

Fire drills
Gender equality
We are promoting women’s management positions (at the rank of General Manager, etc.). Of the ten such positions within the company, three are occupied by women.
The Environment
Monthly local follow-ups on environmental/energy saving activities and regular audits of industrial waste processing companies are conducted. Green Day events are conducted on the first day of every month with the aim of improving environmental awareness through clean-up activities at plants and education regarding waste-collection and separation practices.
In May 2021, 13 employees participated in the biodiversity conservation activities at Lò Gò Xa Mát National Park in Tay Ninh Province.
In addition, we are actively rolling out to reduce energy used, industrial waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
We will continue these activities as part of the Green Wave activities.
